Gainer Variations
Although all gainers share a common fantasy of getting fatter, they differ
greatly in the specific form their fantasies take. One way to approach this
diversity is to consider the kind of partner the gainer fantasizes about:
- Gay gainer: Most male gainers identify as gay, so this is the
largest group of gainers. Often a gay gainer has both gaining fantasies
and gay fantasies. He wants to get fat and he wants to do it with a man
that he'll have sex with. For other gainers, there is such a strong focus
on the gaining that they don't care about other things. They might have
little or no interest in oral sex or anal sex or mutual masturbation. For
them, the important thing is the gaining and they want to have another man
help them with it.
- Mutual gainer: This is a variation of a gay gainer where it is
important for the gainer to be with a fellow gainer. Sometimes this is
just a matter of personal choice based on experiences he has had. For
others, it is important not only to have a growing belly himself, but also
to be able to fondle and help to grow another man's belly.
- Straight gainer: As one gainer put it, it is possible to be
straight, but gay for bellies.
A straight gainer wants to get fat, but he also fantasizes about having sex
with women. Some of the same variations that exist in the gay gaining
world exist in the straight gaining world. Some of these men want a woman
who will fatten them up. Some of them want a mutual gaining arrangement
with a woman who will get fat with him. And some of them separate their
gaining from their heterosexual relations.
- Submissive gainer: A submissive gainer wants to be with a dominant
man who takes control. The common theme is that he wants the other man to
decide what he will eat and how fat he will become. Often the fantasy
includes being tied up or restrained in some way, as in being forcefed a
shake through a funnel while tied to a chair. The fantasy sometimes
includes aspects of verbal or physical humiliation, as in being told that
he is a "dirty little piggy" or that he's become a "fat slob." In the more
extreme forms it can involve physical pain such as gut punching.
In addition to all of these kinds of gainers, there is also a variation that
involves wanting to help another man grow fatter without becoming fat
yourself. Those individuals are known as encouragers. By definition,
a mutual gainer is both a gainer and an encourager. There are other
variations as well (e.g., passive vs dominant encouragers).
There are several sexual interests that intersect with gaining. This page
does not attempt to explain them in detail, but here is a list of some of the
most common variations:
- Bloating is the practice of expanding the belly by
consuming a large amount of food or liquid. Often the bloating is done
with water so that it doesn't lead to actual weight gain.
- Padding is the practice of placing cushions or other
item's under one's clothes to give the appearance of being fat. Water
padding involves padding with water-filled containers because it more
closely approximates actually being fat.
- Squashing involves a fat man using his weight to squash
another. This is a common interest among gainers and encouragers. It is
also sometimes referred to as smashing or crushing.
- Mpreg is a term used to describe sexual fantasies that center
around male pregnancy.
- Inflation is the practice of forcing air into the body to
cause the belly to expand.
